I was shocked and upset when I heard yesterday that Chrisie Edkins had died. It is thought that she ended her own life, but that is unsubstantiated at this moment in time. Chrisie was a wonderful advocate for the trans community with her interviews on television and through her songs and music and many of these will no doubt become anthems for the trans community.The one that will always stand out for me personally is her song "Hate" which is a plea to the world for more compassion and understanding for people who are transgender:-
